Cookie Policy (ePrivacy & GDPR)

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your computer or mobile device when you access our website. They enable the website to recognize your browser, preserve language preferences, and ensure secure communication with our cloud infrastructure.

2. Categorization of Cookies We Utilize

Cookie Type Purpose & Function Legal Basis
Strictly Necessary Cookies Essential for website security, bot mitigation (Cloudflare Turnstile token `__cf_bm`), and server load balancing. Cannot be disabled. Legitimate Interest (Art. 6(1)(f))
Functional & Preference Cookies Remembers your chosen language (`eyue_lang`), preferred currency, and Cookie banner consent status (`eyue_cookie_consent`). Consent (Art. 6(1)(a))
Inquiry Visit Context (browser storage, not cookies) When you use our quote form, your browser temporarily keeps the list of pages viewed in this visit (with time spent on each) in session storage, and a first-visit marker in local storage. This context is read only when you submit the form and is sent with your inquiry so we can verify its source and answer in context — it is not used for advertising and is not shared with anyone. Clearing your browser data removes it. In the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland, this recording starts only after you click "Accept" on the consent banner; elsewhere it is on by default and can be switched off via the footer "Cookie Settings" link (see Section 3). Legitimate Interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — inquiry handling
Analytics Cookies (loaded only after you click "Accept" in consent regions) With your consent, Microsoft Clarity (`_clck`, `_clsk` — session recordings and heatmaps, masked inputs) and Google Analytics 4 (`_ga`, `_ga_*`) help us understand how buyers use the site. If you click "Decline", neither service is ever loaded and no analytics cookies are set. Outside the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland — where analytics consent is not legally required — these services load by default and can be switched off via the footer "Cookie Settings" link (see Section 3). We additionally keep a cookie-free, first-party event log (pages opened, quote/contact clicks, template downloads, form starts and submissions, tied to a random session ID in session storage — no identifiers, no third parties) under the same consent rule; see Privacy Policy Section 5. Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) in the EU/EEA/UK/CH; legitimate interest elsewhere with opt-out

3. How to Manage Cookie Preferences

If you visit from the EU/EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a consent banner appears at the bottom of the page on your first visit. Clicking "Accept" enables Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics 4 and allows the inquiry visit context above to be recorded during this visit; clicking "Decline" keeps analytics permanently off and clears any visit context recorded so far. Your choice is stored in the `eyue_cookie_consent` cookie for 12 months, so the banner will not reappear on every visit.

Visitors from other regions are not shown the banner — there, analytics load by default because consent is not legally required. You can switch them off at any time with the "Cookie Settings" link in the page footer: it re-opens the banner, and clicking "Decline" turns analytics off and clears the visit context from your current session. Browsers that send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal are treated as having declined. Declining has no effect on any site functionality. To change your decision later, use the same "Cookie Settings" link — no need to clear cookies manually.
