Design & Printing

Artwork Requirements

Good artwork files are the difference between "exactly what you designed" and an expensive surprise. Here's exactly what to send — and remember, our prepress team checks every file for free before printing.

File Formats

  • Adobe Illustrator (.AI) — preferred
  • Editable PDF (.PDF) — exported from Illustrator with edit-capable layers
  • EPS (.EPS) — accepted

JPG/PNG screenshots and Canva exports aren't print-ready — but send what you have; if it's a logo plus an idea, our team will build the print file with you.

The Five Rules

  1. Convert fonts to outlines (Type → Create Outlines). No outlines = different fonts on our system = broken layout.
  2. Color mode CMYK, or specify Pantone (PMS) numbers for brand colors. RGB files shift in print; PMS is the only way to guarantee an exact brand color.
  3. 3mm bleed on every edge that touches a cut, plus keep text and logos 3mm inside cut lines and score lines.
  4. Raster images at 300 DPI at final print size. Web images (72 DPI) will look soft.
  5. Work on our dieline — tell us the box style and size and we'll send a layered dieline (artwork / cut / crease) at no cost. See our free dieline service.

Special Finishes Have Their Own Layers

  • Hot foil / spot UV — supply as a separate 100% black vector layer named "Foil" or "Spot UV"
  • Embossing — separate vector outline of the raised area
  • Windows — mark the cut-out clearly if the window shape isn't on the dieline

If that sounds fussy — don't worry. It's our prepress team's job, not yours. Every order includes a free artwork check, and we won't send anything to press until you approve a proof.

How to Send Files

Attach files up to 10MB directly in the inquiry form, or paste a WeTransfer/Dropbox/Drive link. Files stay confidential — we're happy to sign an NDA before you share designs.

Free Prepress Check Within 24 Hours
